Cottweiler’s London Fashion Week Men’s show was set in a spacious, but intimate, circular room. Gentle water sounds played in the background with a voiceover talking about emotion. Attendees’ seats (soft cushions, positioned close to the floor), were spread out in concentric circles like a lotus flower. The message was one of relaxation, tranquility and openness.

Cottweiler’s SS19 show began when the drippy, watery sounds switched into hardcore electronic music, and the models filed in, circling around guests to form a ring in the middle of the runway. The show notes were sparse — “GOOD WISHES AND PURE FEELINGS” — but the lingering phrase “spiritual performance-wear” was perhaps the most apt to describe the vision for Cottweiler’s SS19 offerings.

Classic Cottweiler pieces — aka the tracksuit — were embellished with melted monograms, rubber prints, fine embroidery and sheer materials that gave a smooth, liquid-like appearance to the fabrics. Accessories ranged from enormous front and back-facing rucksacks, yoga mats, and in one case, an LCD TV screen.

On foot, SS19 was styled with Reebok (a seasoned Cottweiler collaborator) mesh fabrics sneakers, alongside TEVA sandals, which were spotted in a range of vibrant colors. This season’s color palette was revealed in a gradient, starting with black and ending with a golden yellow, with splashes of lilac and teal peppered in throughout.
