Quiksilver just announced the latest film by world-renowned snowboarding legend, Travis Rice. Dark Matter sees the athlete reunite with acclaimed director Curt Morgan for a 26-minute celebration of the sport on the vast slopes of the remote Alaskan backcountry.

The film features the outstanding freeriding skills of Rice and fellow pro-snowboarder Elias Elhardt, together pushing the boundaries of snowboarding to its very limits. Their stunts are cinematically captured in the aggressive mountain terrain, for which cast and crew had to brave extreme weather conditions and avalanches.

Speaking on the project, Rice explained, "Dark Matter is a celebration, and an acknowledgment that in order to ride big mountain terrain safely and aggressively, you need to tap into more than just snow science and experience. You have to embrace your 6th sense, so to speak, and embrace the elements to best align with the mountains. This is not about dominating anything. It’s about harmony."

The film marks Travis Rice’s eighth film since rising to snowboard stardom and comes hotly anticipated by fans. Dark Matter will air on Christmas Eve, December 24, on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and iTunes. Check out the breath-taking trailer below.
