Marvel has been dominating the film industry in the past decade, culminating with the recent blockbuster, Avenger’s: Infinity War, and with many more films still underway.
Youtuber Evan Puschak, a.k.a. Nerdwriter1, has published a new video essay analyzing just why the Marvel cinematic universe's action scenes are more much satisfying compared to films by the DC universe, like last year's Justice League.
In the seven-minute clip above, Puschak starts it off by describing the formula that Marvel movies tend to share with the Mission: Impossible series, which include three to four good set pieces, a non-boring plot, charismatic actors, and a few laughs, while he delves onto highlighting DC’s problems, such as limiting superpower usage, getting the physics all wrong, and forgetting to add significant character moments in between epic fight scenes.
Additionally, Puschak showcases sequences of certain Marvel clips in between DC films to illustrate the contrast between them. Enjoy the quick analysis and let us know if you prefer Marvel or DC films in the comments below.
