Since the release of Pokémon Red & Blue in 1996, fans have been captivated by the world of mythical and adorable pocket monsters. 23 years later, Warner Bros. looks to capture the same magic that drew us in as kids and bring it to the big screen in the first live-action film of the franchise, Detective Pikachu.

As early reviews start hitting our social media timelines, we can safely evolve our expectations to the most hype as the film is receiving rave feedback.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, as the Internet's beloved Detective Pikachu, the film is a fantasy mystery following a 21-year-old searching for answers surrounding the disappearance of his father. Teaming up with the talking electric pokémon, the two embark on a heartwarming adventure encountering popular names in the series including Charizard, Squirtle, Psyduck, and more.

So far, fans can't get enough of how adorable Reynold's Pikachu is. From the amazing action sequences, to the lifelike CGI performances, to hilarious moments, Detective Pikachu seems to successfully transport viewers right into the beautiful world of Pokémon like it did on your O.G. Gameboy decades ago.
