To celebrate 70 years in the business, Italian sportswear titan Diadora has joined forces with its compatriots at Diemme for an extra special pair of hiking boots, the first milestone in a year that's sure to be full of rich collaborations.

Named the Tonale mod. 1948, the rugged boot has been constructed using a wealth of opulent materials. The upper incorporates full-grain cow leather, with ultra-soft calfskin details found on the neck and shoe lining. For a snug fit, an anatomical latex instep is included, while a Vibram sole offers utmost traction and comfort. The boot is finished with urban-ready red laces before being packed up in a deluxe box.

The storied brands hail from the northeastern city of Treviso, with each renowned for their commitment to quality and attention to detail. Diadora, founded in 1948 as an artisan manufacturer producing boots for the mountain, rose to prominence during the late 20th century, becoming a key sportswear player thanks to athletic endorsement deals for big names including Bjorn Borg and George Weah. Diemme, meanwhile, boasts over 25 years of experience in the outdoor and performance sectors; the likes of Maison Margiela and Chanel are just a couple of the brand's former collaborators.

Look out for the Tonale mod. 1948 arriving at retailers in Italy on December 9 and globally from December 16. The full stock list follows.
