If there’s one thing that gets most of us through the day, it’s discovering new artists. Whether we’re scrolling through SoundCloud looking for mood tunes to help alleviate a case of the Mondays, or listening to a mixtape someone has sent our way, not a day goes by without some kind of music playing in our offices.

Since our inboxes tend to get inundated with projects from artists interested in coverage, we’re spotlighting some of the quietly wondrous musicians that find their way to us each week. These artists may not have conquered the Billboard 100 (yet) but they’ve all got something unique to offer, and they’re all worth getting to know.

Scroll through to see our 10 under the radar artists to discover this week, and stay tuned for a fresh selection next week.

Sounds Like: Being on a cruise ship and having a love affair while listening to a lot of Prince.

Where: Los Angeles
What They’ve Been Working On: Shedding their old moniker of Blaison Maven and prepping their first EP as Nana.
Sounds Like: Being intimidatingly cool when you roll up, casually striking fear in the hearts of those around you with your untouchability.

Naya Ali

What They’ve Been Working On: Their forthcoming debut EP, which should be demonstrably lit.
Sounds Like: Pouring out a bottle of Henny for the friends who couldn’t be with you and getting righteously turnt in their honor.

Where: New York
What They’ve Been Working On: Orrin has blessed us with the excellent new track “Glo” ahead of an EP due out around summer.
Sounds Like: Riding a crowded subway with a huge group of friends en route to the next bar – everyone else hates you but you and the crew are on fire.

Oscar Key Sung

Where: Melbourne
What They’ve Been Working On: The woozy new single “D.Y.T.”, delivered with an intimate visual to match.
Sounds Like: When you go out to a party despite being in a horrible mood and end the night cackling on the dance floor.

Sam Frankl

Where: London
What They’ve Been Working On: The effervescent new single “Patina,” inspired by a recent trip to South America.
Sounds Like: True to its roots, the track sounds like a jolly romp through a tropical climate.

Where: Copenhagen
What They’ve Been Working On: The brand-new Have Fun EP, which just dropped via XL Recordings.
Sounds Like: Being abducted by aliens who communicate with you in telepathic ambient noises and whispers.

Where: Seattle
What They’ve Been Working On: The hugely-detailed video for new single “If You Don’t Call”.
Sounds Like: Going for a drive on that first true day of summer, where the warm wind teases of long nights to come.

Where: London
What They’ve Been Working On: Her debut project Only Child, a potent blend of her smoky vocals and glistening production.
Sounds Like: When you’re crushing on someone so hard you do really wild things to distract yourself like take a 3-hour shower.
