If there’s one thing that gets most of us through the day, it’s discovering new artists. Whether we’re scrolling through SoundCloud looking for mood tunes to help alleviate a case of the Mondays, or listening to a mixtape someone has sent our way, not a day goes by without some kind of music playing in our offices.

Since our inboxes tend to get inundated with projects from artists interested in coverage, we’re spotlighting some of the quietly wondrous musicians that find their way to us each week. These artists may not have conquered the Billboard 100 (yet) but they’ve all got something unique to offer, and they’re all worth getting to know.

Scroll through to see our 10 under the radar artists to discover this week, and stay tuned for a fresh selection next week.

Where: Portland, Oregon
What They’ve Been Working On: Moving away from their native NYC to Oregon, inspiring the above video for “Sittin’ Pretty,” taken from last year’s Avenue A.
Sounds Like: Hanging out in the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks while freestyling over your dad’s collection of jazz records.

Where: Paris
What They’ve Been Working On: Continuing to put forth their vision of a “blank, genreless collective” with visuals like “James Franco.”
Sounds Like: The first minute sounds likes a dementor eating your soul, but this quickly turns into a direct dive into an ’80s hardcore-show in a dodgy basement.

Where: Berlin
What They’ve Been Working On: More stellar collaborative singles like this one with Bibi Bourelly, worlds away from the Ed Sheeran cover they dropped last year.
Sounds Like: The aftermath of a great night out that ends with a dramatic argument in the street with your friends.

iLL Blu

Where: London
What They’ve Been Working On: Teaming up with Icelandic chanteuse Glowie for this massive track.
Sounds Like: Actually going out in London – to the real places where the real people go have real parties.

Jarina De Marco

Where: Los Angeles
What They’ve Been Working On: Churning out her singularly fire brand of dance, from this Mad Decent-produced “STFU” to “Tigre,” which was featured on Broad City.
Sounds Like: Pounding MDMA and hitting a jungle-acid-house rave that has a secret entrance through the back of a warehouse.

Where: Gothenburg
What They’ve Been Working On: This single “Bleed It Out,” a precursor to hitting the road with ODESZA on tour next week.
Sounds Like: A much-loved house tune that has been given a radical reworking, resulting in the perfect song for you to end your night to.

Where: The Bronx, NY
What They’ve Been Working On: This year’s first single, “Delivert,” and hitting up Brasstracks, Thelonious Martin and Omen for an album out early next year.
Sounds Like: Being triumphant; whether it’s a great victory or winning an argument, this is what it sounds like to end up on top.

Where: Los Angeles
What They’ve Been Working On: The release of his debut album Burn, due out on January 19.
Sounds Like: If the team at OVO Sound decided to put their vocalists on brutal, dirty techno to see what would happen.

Where: London
What They’ve Been Working On: After breaking through on Troyboi’s 2015 “On My Own,” she’s continuing to craft her own sound. “I Dare You” is her third-ever release.
Sounds Like: Sex, just really great sex, plain and simple.

Where: Montreal
What They’ve Been Working On: Prepping the release of his upcoming full-length MTLiens 2, with even more collaborations with Kaytranada.
Sounds Like: Going out in a very well-fitting suit to rooms full of people drinking scotch and feeling cool but slightly out of place.
