A strong contender for song of the summer, DJ Khaled’s “I’m The One” features Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber and Quavo of Migos. In a new interview with Billboard which you can check out below, DJ Khaled breaks down how he assembled his star-studded team for the track that reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to DJ Khaled, Quavo stepped into the studio and laid down his verse a mere five minutes after listening to the instrumentals. He also FaceTimed Justin Bieber to get him involved in the track, proceeding to head over to Bieber’s house for a spin in his decked-out truck complete with fur and a killer sound system.
“I’m The One” will appear on DJ Khaled’s forthcoming album Grateful, set to drop Friday, June 23. The producer recently released “To The Max” featuring Drake, which we reviewed as one of our staff picks. Grateful will feature Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Future, Migos, Rihanna and many more.
