In an interview courtesy of GQ, Kanye confidant Don Crawley aka Don C elaborates on the inspiration behind his line of Just Don snapback hats. The Chicago native has carved his own niche in the snapback world in recent years, customizing headpieces from various sports teams and selling to esteemed retailers such as colette, Wish ATL, and even Barneys New York.

Unbeknownst to many fans of the brand, Don C's python brim caps were actually inspired by the "buck fifty" hats favored by drug dealers in 1980s Chicago, which featured faux-python brims.
