As Spring Summer ’19 lines hit our favorite retailers, a collection that’s particularly caught our eye comes from Antwerp-six luxury fashion designer Dries Van Noten. Showcased at Paris Fashion Week last year, the progressive label’s extensive SS19 collection dropped on e-commerce giant SSENSE earlier this week, and is packed full of investment pieces with instant head-turning appeal.
The new ready-to-wear collection is particularly striking for its eclectic color palette and bold patterns. Each of the new pieces uses custom-milled textiles to construct premium silhouettes that tread between quality tailoring and traditional workwear.
Alongside some of the line’s more psychedelic prints that are a direct nod to the early 1970s, some of our favorite pieces come from the richer hues of a mint green viscose shirt, for instance, or coated nylon crinkle-textured shorts and side bags.
Other standout pieces include a cotton and linen-blend cardigan featuring a bold jacquard pattern and green stripes at its hem, and a nylon canvas tote bag featuring a navy, black, and brown graphic pattern that persists through the entire collection.
