British company Dyson has unveiled a new colorway of its recent Supersonic hair dryer, made in partnership with barbershop and speakeasy, Blind Barber.

Debuted at Blind Barber's East Village shop in New York City, the Dyson Supersonic has become the most buzzed-about hair dryer in the industry, and now it’s been dipped in a super sleek black/nickel finish. The new colorway adds on to the four iterations already available.

To understand what makes this hair dryer different from other offerings, about $71 million was spent on its development, which took four years, with 600 prototypes built. Additionally, 1,010 miles of human hair were tested to investigate everything from airflow dynamics to hair's cellular structure and better understand the thermal, mechanical, and chemical damage to hair when exposed to varying heat temperatures.

Blind Barber has announced that its six locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago will be using the new Professional edition of the Supersonic.

Priced at $400, the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer can be purchased at Dyson's online store now.
