Designer: Eckhaus Latta
Location: New York Fashion Week
Key Pieces: The sleeveless knit (slide #1) is a piece that can be worn on its own or strategically layered for a DIY-but-make-it-look-expensive kind of vibe.
Editor’s Notes: Menswear has become undeniably more sensual in recent times. A little skin here, and a bare chest there — it’s a corporeal revolution that’s been seen via the skimpy pieces and sheer shirting from Ludovic De Saint Sernin and Dior in Paris. Across the Atlantic at New York Fashion Week, Eckhaus Latta is doing it in a very New York, very art school kind of way, too.
For SS20, design duo Zoe Latta and Mike Eckhaus sent out exposing knitted tanks, boxy short-sleeve button-ups, high-waisted white pants (styled with a single sleeve), gray cargo pants, and cobalt blue workwear. Elsewhere, a bit of glamor was brought to the Bushwick runway setting via all-over sequinned dresses in blue and orange. On foot, Eckhaus Latta developed its ongoing collaboration with UGG, showing five women’s and three unisex styles on the runway. See the highlights in the gallery above.
