Earlier this month, Los Angeles-based producer Elohim teamed up with Skrillex on her new single “Buckets.” Today, we’re premiering the accompanying visual for the rowdy banger which Elohim describes as an “emotional purge” that hits hard when the bass drops at the chorus. The Jonas Risvig-directed video was shot in Nørrebro, a neighborhood in Copenhagen, and follows a group of girls from the area that were scouted on the streets. The whole narrative unfolds like an episode of Skins starring a cast of empowered women.
“We wanted to find some unspoiled youth for this video,” said Risvig. “We wound up with these four girls who all knew about the streets and the culture that we wanted to portray… We just had to follow them around and let them act out their inner demons.”
“Buckets” is the second in a pair of singles that Elohim released through Skrillex’s OWSLA label, and she currently has a list of U.S. shows in the books. Watch all the antics go down in the video and scroll down to view the tour dates.
