Elon Musk has come under fire following inflammatory comments against a British caver who assisted in the recent Thailand rescue mission to save a boys’ football team and its coach.

Diver Vernon Unsworth, who was involved in the cave rescue, told CNN that Musk’s attempt to aid the rescue with a mini-submarine was a “PR stunt” and that Musk could “stick his submarine where it hurts.” As previously reported, Musk and his engineering team sent over a “kid-sized” submarine to support attempts to free the boys.

In response to Unsworth’s comments, Musk said in a series of now-deleted tweets that he “never saw this British expat guy who lives in Thailand (sus) at any point,” before adding in a subsequent tweet, “Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it.”

As expected after such inflammatory comments, Twitter fired back at the Tesla co-founder, with users criticising Musk’s intentions and credibility. Check out the reactions below.
