Inspired by the democratic process of this year’s presidential election, famed boutique Extra Butter has partnered with Saucony to introduce the “For the People” Social Design Experiment. As the name suggests, the collaboration was literally made for the people, by the people - Extra Butter took to social media to consult their followers on which shoe model to use and on other details such as colorway, material, and feedback on samples.

The final product is a Saucony Shadow 5000 inspired by a "Nite At the Drive-In" theme, with colorblocking reflecting the classic automobile colors popular in the 50s. Featuring materials such as full-grain leather, wolverine pigskin suede and patent leather, the collaboration sees itself boasting intensely luxurious materials for a premium feel. Other accents such as a custom graphic box, chrome grill pieces, a custom graphic tongue label/insole and checkerboard accent laces furthering the unique feel of the collaboration.

The Extra Butter x Saucony Shadow 5000 “EBFTP” will release November 8 at both Extra Butter locations and online for a retail price of $120 USD.
