Camenzind Evolution have designed a futuristic home, dubbed Flexhouse, located on the banks of Lake Zurich in Switzerland. The home was completed in March of 2016, as it stands four stories and has an open living plan.
The dining and kitchen space can be found on the ground floor, with two bedrooms and bathrooms positioned on the first floor, and a studio with two large terraces on the second floor. The basement level then houses an underground garage as well as utility space.
The exterior architecture of the home is what truly catches the eye, however, as Flexhouse provides with 180-degree views across the lake and on to the mountains in the distance. In turn, the exterior boasts wide walls of glass and a ribbon-like white façade that winds its way around the building.
The overall design of the residence goes from wide to narrow, following the railway lines and the shape of the plot. The interior welcomes unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape just outside, as natural light then fills virtually the entire home. The glass walls provide inhabitants with a feeling of being at one with nature, even while positioned inside of the house.
For another home that is designed to be at one with nature, take a look at Jones House in Brazil.
