Floyd Mayweather is the highest paid athlete in the world, raking in an eye-popping $285 million in total earnings in 2018, according to Forbes.

The retired pound-for-pound boxing king is no stranger to displaying his affinity for luxury, as he just took to Instagram, showcasing his most recent purchase -- Jacob & Co.’s $18 million "Billionaire" diamond tourbillon watch.

Acquired from jeweler Tadashi Fukushima, Forbes points out that the immaculate timepiece was introduced during Baselworld 2015, and it's a one-of-a-kind watch that renowned jeweler Jacob Arabo created in affiliation with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, and his Billionaire Lifestyle SARL company.

Boasting 260 carats of emerald-cut diamonds, the Billionaire watch features a rectangular case and dial with a skeletonized movement equipped with a tourbillon escapement that is constantly in motion when placed on the wrist. In addition, the entire 18-karat white gold case and bracelet of the timepiece is diamond-set with stones that weigh as much as three carats each.

Now, why do luxury watches cost so much money? Read here and find out.
