In certain cases, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has proven to be a man of his word. And in others, he’s proven that he’s also a master troll.

After having made good on his promise to defeat Conor McGregor in a boxing match in August 2017 by knocking him out in the 10th round to improve his record to 50-0, recent Instagram activity by Mayweather suggests that he may be exploring taking his talents to the octagon for a mixed martial arts match.

Presented without any caption, Mayweather is seen hopping inside the cage barefoot; one of the requisites of any MMA competition. It comes on the heels of another post in which he flipped the staple #MCM hashtag to mean, “Mayweather Crushes McGregor.”

In response to the recent video, McGregor clapped back on Twitter, responding, “Hahahaha very good. Keep up the good work my son. Yours sincerely, Senior.” He then posted a photo with his son, writing, “fuck the Mayweathers.”

While this is certainly just posturing my two men confident in their abilities, longtime MMA pundit, Joe Rogan, has gone of record as saying that Mayweather is seriously considering a change of sport.

“Floyd talked about it, apparently,” Rogan said on his podcast. “This is one thing I can tell you, Dana [White] told me that Floyd wants to make a deal in the UFC. Like legitimately. So I texted him, ‘Is Floyd really talking about fighting in MMA?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, he’s f—ing crazy. I told him he’d get killed but he’s still talking about doing it.'”

Stay tuned for further developments.
