It’s not often that car enthusiasts or veteran car collectors strike gold for history, mileage, and also price. However, RM Sotheby’s upcoming Fort Lauderdale auction features an almost too good to be true 2006 Ford GT – ticking nearly all the boxes.
The classic car auction house will be selling the 11-year-old vehicle with only a mere 10.8 miles on the odometer – that’s just over a mile per year. The car comes with its original plastic wrapping atop the leather seats, warning tag on the shifter, and a remarkably clean engine. In that sense, the car may as well be brand new.
Extras include forged BBS wheels and painted brake calipers. The design of the 2006 model was based on the original Ford GT40 race car, making it the perfect hybrid between a sports and city car. According to some car enthusiasts, the 2006 model is worth a reported $400,000. RM Sotheby’s analysts predict the car will sell for between $300,000 and $350,000 once it goes to auction in April 2018.
