Nintendo has just announced during its E3 press conference that Epic Games’ smash hit Fortnite would be coming to the Switch, confirming industry rumors that were reported last month.

The game will be rolling out to all regions via the Nintendo eShop today, with North America now live, and availability worldwide begins on 5:00 p.m. EST.

According to Epic Games announcement, Fortnite on Nintendo Switch will be exactly the same experience, as played on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile. It boasts the same gameplay, map, content, and weekly updates. With Switch, you can squad up with your friends in the same room or around the world, and even play on the go.

The game will feature cross-play between Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile, however, PlayStation has blocked cross-play with the Nintendo Switch version, which has been confirmed by Epic Games PR representative Nick Chester via Twitter.

Head on over to Epic Games’ official website for additional details.

In other Nintendo news, ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ features every playable character in the series’ history.
