As the penultimate track on Blonde, “Godspeed” is one of the most calming, contemplative tracks on Frank Ocean’s excellent new album. Its washed-out synthesizers and hymn-like keyboard lines make the song sound like an ambient remix of the Blade Runner soundtrack, and it makes for a perfect moment of introspection before the hectic 10-minute “Futura Free” that closes the album. But these qualities have been completely reworked (or removed entirely) in a slick new remix from dvsn.

Where the original version of the track is marked by sparse instrumentals, this remix adds a powerful, infectiously dancey beat that runs through the entire track. And infectiously dancey beats are something that dvsn has proven they have a real knack for, highlighted by their remix of Aaliyah’s “One in a Million” dropped earlier this year in a firestorm of lit-ness.

dvsn appropriately dropped the track on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio Beats 1 show last night, seeing as the producing-duo are among the label’s most recent and high-profile signees. This also comes hot on the heels of their debut album Sept. 5th which was released to high praise this spring.
