Operating under the moniker of G.KERO, painter Marguerite Bartherotte perfectly captures the art-fashion symbiosis.

While searching for alternatives to traditional gallery canvases, Marguerite happened upon the idea of drawing on apparel. "I started by drawing handsome boyfriends that I didn't have, and then I drew pretty girls on their T-shirts," says the La Cambre arts school alumnus. With the help of her siblings, the G.KERO brand was established in 2011. From there, the bohemian Bartherotte has carved a niche as one of the most idiosyncratic designers to have emerged out of France in recent years.

These days, G.KERO can be found on the racks of famous stores the world over. Superstars such as Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Elle Fanning, and Marion Cotillard have all been pictured in the get-up, while Daft Punk, David Bowie, The Beatles, and Karl Lagerfeld are just a few of the famous references featured on G.KERO apparel.

For our latest piece of original Highsnobiety TV content, we pitched up in the City of Lights for a one-on-one meeting with Marguerite. Here, she explained her working practices, inspiration, and future ambitions for the brand.

Check out the footage above, and then catch our visit to Iceland's frosty arctic lands.
