HBO has started work on filling the Game of Thrones-shaped hole left in our lives after season eight wrapped last month. According to Northern Ireland’s Belfast Telegraph, filming on the prequel series has now begun.
The Game of Thrones prequel series, which will be set roughly a thousand years before the events of the A Song of Ice and Fire saga, is currently shooting in Northern Ireland, where much of Game of Thrones itself was shot.
The series is yet to be given an official name, although George R.R. Martin feels it should be called The Long Night, and is set to star a bunch of major names, including Naomi Watts, John Simm (Doctor Who), and Miranda Richardson (The Crying Game).
On this episode of The Dropcast, we are joined by activist and educator DeRay Mckesson who schools us on some history of black and gay activism.
