Following speculation, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, has disclosed that the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will not air until 2019. Turner revealed the news in a recent interview with Variety.

Filming for the much-anticipated finale has already begun, albeit at a later point than for previous seasons, while some episodes will reportedly be feature film-length.

For now, however, HBO has yet to confirm the 2019 premiere, as HBO programming president Casey Bloys previously stated, “They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing.”

According to Business Insider, the final six episodes of GoT will be directed by David Nutter, Miguel Sapochnik, and David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

So while we have a ways to go until the Game of Thrones sendoff, here are some new TV shows to check out in the upcoming months.
