New York is known for its rich sense of worldliness, a place where the diversity of human culture is tucked neatly onto a 13-mile long island. And yet this is not necessarily reflected in what we think of as ‘New York rap.’ Enter GASHI, a Libyan-born, Brooklyn-based artist who marries NY swag with an eclectic palette of sonic influences.
Said sonic influences are clearly felt in each of his releases thus far, but today’s all about the visuals. GASHI has dropped a lush, colorful, choreography-heavy filled video for “Creep on Me,” a collaborative track with French Montana and DJ Snake. Check out its world premiere below.
Speaking on the release, GASHI told Highsnobiety in an email that “I made a song and shot a video with two of my best friends in the music business… Just wanted to make a fun record for the summer and glad the video matches that vibe… The video is inspired by Sean Paul!”
