Google has just released its Year in Search for 2017 and the results are, as always, an interesting peek into what went down this past year and what we, as users, cared most about.

The Google Year in Review covers everything from the most searched people and memes to movies, songs, and global news.

A quick look shows us that the sexual abuse allegations in Hollywood and beyond dominated the searches with Matt Lauer, Harvey Weinstein, and Kevin Spacey placing in the top 5 people along with Meghan Markle and Nadia Toffa.

Matt Lauer even made it into the top 5 overall searches behind Hurricane Irma, the iPhone8, and iPhone X.

Tragedies also placed highly, with Hurricane Irma topping all searches. The ongoing North Korea tensions and the Las Vegas Shooting also placed in the top five under “Global News.”

In consumer tech, Apple dominated; predictably, its iPhone 8 and X models topped the search charts. Samsung’s Galaxy S8, meanwhile, had to make do with fourth place.

Tom Petty topped the “losses” category, while “Cash Me Outside” was the top meme of 2017.

Check out some of the top categories below, and then peep the complete results over at Google.
