Zane Lowe just premiered “Let Me Out” on his Beats 1 show, a new track from popular British virtual band Gorillaz featuring rapper Pusha T and, rhythm/blues and gospel singer, Mavis Staples.
In a recent interview with Lowe, lead singer of Gorillaz, Damon Albarn admitted that he wrote the song during a nearly two-day train ride from New York City, and also revealed that 40 more Gorillaz songs have been recorded, in addition to the their forthcoming album Humanz, which is scheduled to release on Friday, April 28.
“Let Me Out” follows the four previously released Humanz tracks “Ascension” (with Vince Staples), “We Got the Power” (with Noel Gallagher and Jehnny Beth), “Saturnz Barz” (with Popcaan), and “Andromeda” (with D.R.A.M.).
