Singer, multi-media artist and all around renaissance woman, Grimes, followed up on the release of her Art Angels album by debuting a video for one of the project's singles, "Fly Trap."

The Canadian export isn't only featured in the video, either, she also directed and edited the entire project. Of course the end result is nothing less than what we've come to expect from Grimes. Dark and foreboding yet arrestingly beautiful, each scene offers a new mood and sense of urgency. In some scenes,  Monáe and Grimes appear as avenging fighters complete with flaming swords, while in others, Grimes resembles an oil-slicked fallen angel.

There's a hallucinogenic feeling throughout the entirety of it, which is partly due to the Grimes using phantom cameras. According to the singer, she wanted to create the feeling that time was suspended. Paired with the insistent, thrumming, drum of the track, and Grimes and Monáe energetic performance, it's already one of the more creative releases of 2017.
