As fashion month kicks off with London Collections: Men (which starts tomorrow - so keep an eye out on these very pages for coverage of the week's best shows), it's come to light that gay hookup app Grindr will be live streaming J.W. Anderson's FW16 show. Anderson, who has won accolades for his forward-thinking, gender-vague take on clothing, will be allowing Grindr users exclusive access to his show - although the stream itself will be hosted on tablet and mobile browsers.
“I think fashion is a sexy platform as well, ultimately," Anderson commented on the somewhat unorthodox decision. "We’re all humans, so we all have to be somewhat sexually attractive to someone. That’s the name of the game, with clothing.” It's not hard to imagine the designer's clothing - which regularly exposes midriffs, shoulders and hips - enjoying quite a following among the fashion-forward end of Grindr's user base, and it's certainly an interesting development in the way people are viewing and consuming fashion these days.
