If you want to look extra cool sipping your hibiscus tea (or other hot drink of choice), you're going to need a solid set of mugs, pots and other such things. Most of the time, big box retailers won't cater towards your highly considered aesthetic needs.
Hasami is different.
The company produces ceramic dinnerware that makes us question why we would ever use a "dad mug" again. Designed by contemporary artist Takuhiro Shinomoto, the collection is minimalistic, slightly rustic, and completely modular -- each piece will stack on top of another for easy storage. Shinomoto produced the porcelain goods in Nagasaki, Japan, a place that's been hand making ceramics for over 400 years.
Does the fact that this is Japanese make the product intrinsically better? Not necessarily. But we do typically find that made-in-Japan means quality. Denim, electronics (including my camera), cars... You get the picture.
