Editor’s Notes: In celebration of Diadora’s 70th anniversary, UK retailer Hanon has joined forces with the Italian sportswear label to reinterpret the classic 1979 Aberdeen court shoe in a luxurious material treatment.
With Hanon essentially located in the city of Aberdeen, often referred to as “the Granite City,” since the city’s buildings incorporated locally quarried grey granite throughout the 18th to mid 20th century, the sneaker simply evokes that greyish aesthetic while offset by red and white accents, and a rich black outsole.
Extremely limited to 200 pairs, the Hanon x Diadora “Aberdeen” is handcrafted in Italy at Diadora’s original factory in Caerano di San Marco. It will be sold only by Hanon starting Saturday, April 7. Each pair will come in a custom box with dustbag, a special hangtag, and four lace sets.
