Last spring, Highsnobiety launched Highsnobiety.jp, our Japanese-language website, followed by the debut of our first-ever Japanese print magazine last October. Now, the continued success leads to the arrival of HIGHSNOBIETY JAPAN Issue 02.
Fronted by Taka Moriuchi of Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK, the issue spotlights the band’s future and production of their new album, Eye of the Storm. The magazine also features SOKLOCT (Skorokto) Nakano Satoshi who has been leading fashion and street culture in Tokyo since the ’90s, as well as Japanese street brand Magic Stick in conjunction with Japan-based electronic commerce company DMM.com. In addition, Japanese label Giddy Up, which employs 3D printing in an artistic fashion, as well as the country’s first computer generated model with “imma” are also explored.
Furthermore, the SS19 issue delves on the evolution of elite fashion brands such as Celine, Louis Vuitton and Dior, and their hiring of new creative directors Hedi Slimane, Virgil Abloh and Kim Jones, respectively.
