Editor’s Notes: Performance footwear brand HOKA ONE ONE is preparing to take on world and American records at 100K, presenting Project Carbon X, which will commemorate the launch of the new Carbon X silhouette. Project Carbon X finds multiple HOKA athletes attempting to break the 100K world record.
The Carbon X sneaker is primed for the challenge with its lightweight construction and HOKA’s signature cushioning. The racing shoe is designed to propel athletes to their best performance, as it is equipped with features that will benefit all types of athletes.
Weighing in at 8.5 ounces, the Carbon X boasts HOKA ONE ONE’s signature active foot frame construction, providing enhanced stability and support. The sneaker then welcomes a carbon fiber plate in the midsole and an aggressive Metarocker to award you with a more efficient ride.
Project Carbon X includes a 100K race in Folsom, California this Saturday, May 4, in which a number of HOKA athletes will attempt to break the 100K world record while wearing the Carbon X. HOKA ultra runners Jim Walmsley, Patrick Reagan, Tyler Andrews, Mike Wardian, Hideaki Yamauchi, and Yoshiki Takada will look to beat Nao Kazami’s world record of 6:09:14, which was set last year. HOKA athletes Sabrina Little and Aiko Kanematsu will race as well with hopes of besting the women’s world record of 6:33:11, which was set in 2000 by Tomoe Abe.
You can look forward to HOKA ONE ONE’s all-new Carbon X sneaker launching initially on May 15 through hokaoneone.eu, followed by a global release on June 1.
