Last month, Spotify announced its Premium users across the United States would be gifted a free Hulu subscription, meaning that for just $9.99 per month, subscribers could enjoy both ad-free music and an absolute ton of amazing TV content.

Hulu might not scream as loudly as competitors Netflix and Amazon's Prime Video, but quality of its content places it on par with those rivals, if not higher. While you'll find a bunch of shows that also appear on Netflix, such as Rick and Morty and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, there are also loads of comedies, classics, and original series specific to Hulu.

Below, you'll find some, but by no means all, of the best shows on Hulu.

South Park

Seasons on Hulu: 22

Episodes: 294

Head to Hulu for a full dive into South Park's mammoth back catalog. The platform has every single episode of the award-winning animated satire, featuring, among others, metrosexual Crab People, a Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo, and a Towelie the perma-stoned talking towel.

Adventure Time

Seasons on Hulu: 10

Episodes: 277

Join human boy Finn and his best friend, a 28-year-old magic dog called Jake, on an adventure around the Land of Ooo, saving Princess Bubblegum, reasoning with Lumpy Space Princess, and battling zombie candy.

Seasons on Hulu: 7

Episodes: 140

Another fantastic animated show, Futurama hails from the mind of The Simpsons creator Matt Groening and follows pizza delivery boy Fry, who is accidentally frozen on New Year's Eve in the year 1999 and thaws out 1,000 years in the future.

Robot Chicken

Seasons on Hulu: 8

Episodes: 161

It shouldn't come as a huge surprise that this Adult Swim sketch comedy is as batshit crazy as it is funny. Spinning off various pop culture moments, each episode is a 15-minute dose of stop-motion madness.

Seasons on Hulu: 9

Episodes: 171

Perhaps one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time, the award-guzzling Seinfeld is a hilarious and often painfully awkward look at single adult life in ’90s America.

30 Rock

Seasons on Hulu: 7

Episodes: 138

Created by and starring Tina Fey, 30 Rock is based on her experiences as head writer on Saturday Night Live (which is also available on Hulu, FYI) and takes place behind-the-scenes on a fictional sketch show.

Key & Peele

Seasons on Hulu: 5

Episodes: 53

If you were wondering what Jordan Peele was doing before directing Get Out and Us, check out Comedy Central's Key & Peele, a sketch comedy series created by and starring the director and Keegan-Michael Key.

Parks and Recreation

Seasons on Hulu: 7

Episodes: 123

Another US comedy series that's been championed the world over, political satire Parks and Recreation stars Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, a mid-level bureaucrat working in a fictional Indiana town.

Broad City

Seasons on Hulu: 4

Episodes: 40

Probably the best show — if not only show — that really captures non-toxic friendship between women, Broad City documents the many (and often completely mad) adventures of 20-somethings Abbi and Ilana.

The X-Files

Seasons on Hulu: 11

Episodes: 219

The truth is out there in iconic sci-fi conspiracy series The X-Files, which follows FBI agents Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Mulder (David Duchovny) as they attempt to explain the unexplainable.

The O.C.

Seasons on Hulu: 4

Episodes: 92

Welcome to Orange County, home to the rich, the beautiful, the highly dysfunctional, the deeply troubled, and to one of the best teen shows of all time. The soundtrack is pretty damn good, too.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Seasons on Hulu: 7

Episodes: 144

Another old school teen fave, Buffy the Vampire Slayer stars a young Sarah Michelle Gellar as the ass-kicking titular slayer who served as many fierce fashion looks and one-liners as she did vampire-whuppings.

Seasons on Hulu: 5

Episodes: 111

Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross star in Black-ish, a sitcom about an upper-middle-class African-American family living in a colonial home in the suburbs and the personal and sociopolitical issues that come along with that.

The Handmaid's Tale

Seasons on Hulu: 2

Episodes: 23

Based on Margaret Atwood's novel of the same name, The Handmaid's Tale is the harrowing story of a woman (Elisabeth Moss) forced into sexual servitude in a terrifying religious-totalitarian society.

Drunk History

Seasons on Hulu: 5

Episodes: 55

There's nothing quite like watching celebrities retell history's best tales while completely wasted, which is — as the title suggests — the entire premise of this show. Guests include Kirsten Dunst, Seth Rogen, and Johnny Knoxville.
