On this week’s episode of The Dropcast, hosts Jian DeLeon and Noah Thomas are joined by DMV’s IDK who recently dropped his debut album Is He Real? featuring a slew of big hip-hop names.

The Maryland rapper brings his big ideas to the show and educates us on how there is no ugly shoe (3:34). The shoe talk walks us through the latest legal battle involving Nike and Skechers’ alleged infringement on sneaker designs (7:20), and the pace picks up as the cast discusses Eliud Kipchoge’s record-breaking marathon accomplishment (10:25).

The conversation shifts to IDK’s territory of music as he voices support for Notorious B.I.G.’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination among other first-time nominees (15:34) while IDK shares his opinion on fellow DMV rapper Logic who was roasted by Joe Budden (18:06). Last but not least, Kanye played his fans again when he reportedly shared Jesus is King’s new release date at his most recent listening in Washington, D.C. (19:54).

Jian introduces The Dropcast’s newest segment, “Worst Drop of the Week”, where the hosts choose a few of the most boo-worthy items (20:54). This week, Noah hands the title to BBC ICECREAM’s Reebok sneakers, Jian nominates the Supreme-sharkskin-slash-public-defender suit, and IDK flushes down Logic’s verse in French Montana’s Twisted.

While Jesus is King has been the talk, IDK’s newest album questions it all (24:16). You can look forward to IDK performing on the last legs of his US tour and his future collabs with Noah and Jian (26:27). The album talk leads up to the Question of the Week (QOTW): “What’s the best rap album of the year?” (29:25).

The episode wraps up with “What’d You Cop?” IDK was gifted 20 pairs of shoes including the Nike Adapt Huaraches and a Rolex MAD Paris watch (32:20).
