News has just emerged that an IKEA LEGO collaboration is on the way. The news comes after Highsnobiety was provided with a closer look at Virgil Abloh’s highly-anticipated IKEA collection.

This isn't the first big tie-up for the brand. It recently dropped collaborations with STAMPD's Chris StampTom Dixon, Teenage Engineering and of course, the brand has been popping up everywhere in the fashion world, largely thanks to Vetements and Balenciaga's Demna Gvasalia.

The news was unveiled at IKEA's headquarters in Sweden, where it's hosting the Democratic Design Day event. A LEGO representative at the event noted, “Play is essential to kids […] and we really want to introduce many more opportunities for play in the home with children and their parents.”

The official collection is expected to arrive sometime next year.

Check back for updates throughout the day as this is a developing story.
