ikea sleep ship asmr

As part of a campaign to help Australian’s sleep better, IKEA has just launched a 14-day-long livestream on YouTube. It’s called The Sleep Ship, it’s part of the brand’s new Slow TV initiative, and it’s the ASMR dream we all deserve. Watch above.

The 336-hour real-time clip follows IKEA products aboard a ship journeying to Australia. As waves crash against the stern, two Swedish employees named Kent and Sara read furniture names from IKEA Australia’s 2020 catalogue, starting in the bedroom section and ending in the bathroom.

The idea behind the video is basically to lull (or bore) listeners into a peaceful slumber. It’s a spin-off of the Ikea Sleep Podcast, which is also based around narrating the Swedish company’s furniture catalogues. You can listen to the podcast here.
