The time has come - Instagram will change the order of its feed and will start showing popular posts first. Much like Facebook, the platform has grown to a size, not allowing most people to see most of its feed on a regular basis. In fact Instagram states that people miss on average 70 percent of their feeds. The social media network has grown and as such it has become harder and harder to keep up with all the photos and videos that people post. The chronological order that Instagram is currently sorted in does not prioritize popular content or content from friends that you might be more interested in than other content. We are sure that some people will actually enjoy the update, while others were happy that it was actually not sorted the way Facebook is already since a few years.

"To improve your experience, your feed will soon be ordered to show the moments we believe you will care about the most.

The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post. As we begin, we’re focusing on optimizing the order — all the posts will still be there, just in a different order.

If your favorite musician shares a video from last night’s concert, it will be waiting for you when you wake up, no matter how many accounts you follow or what time zone you live in. And when your best friend posts a photo of her new puppy, you won’t miss it."

The change to the Instagram feed should be coming very soon. What do you think about this change? Let us know in the comments.
