There are potentially two new changes coming to your Instagram feed.
Earlier this week, the photo-sharing platform began allowing users to follow hashtags in their feeds. Now the company is testing a “recommended for you” section within the feeds of its users.
While following hashtags is officially a thing, the new recommendation section is still being tested and will show you Instagram posts that your friends have liked or that the algorithm thinks will appeal to you. It’s basically the explore section directly in your feed.
If the feature is officially rolled out, Instagram feeds as we know them could change drastically as your main feed will no longer be reserved exclusively for accounts that you follow.
With Instagram already being hard enough to navigate due to its algorithmic sorting, you might miss more than a few of your friends’ posts in the future.
For those that have already been presented with either feature, how are you finding them? Let us know in the comments section below.
