Here’s a preview of Isabel Marant‘s first men’s SS18 collection revealed during Paris Fashion Week. Known for mixing feminine and masculine pieces in her women’s collections, she explores the opposite by working on a male silhouette that integrates pieces from the female wardrobe. Particular attention has been paid to the sourcing of fabrics, as well as the precise workmanship to help give the pieces a patinated and raw feel.

“It is not about transgender but more about unisex. I like the grey area of wardrobing, where pieces are exchanged. I love androgynous but at the same time very masculine men: David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, Mick Jagger, Serge Gainsbourg, Jamie Hince… music has always been a big source of inspiration. All of these musicians have in common an attitude that oscillates constantly between the provocative and the iconic. In the current generation young men like Rod Paradot, Louis Garrel, Nicolas Duvauchelle have this draw, a very disarming naturalness with an irresistible personality. This is the man I have in mind when I create.” says, Marant.

If you like what you see, the collection will be available starting February 2018 at Isabel Marant stores and online.
