Last night we were treated to a jazzy (and seriously vibing) track called “Wat’s Wrong” from Isaiah Rashad and his label-mate buddy Kendrick Lamar. It was meant to whet our appetite until the appearance of Rashad’s impending debut album, set to launch today, September 2. But in a year that has seen the likes of Frank Ocean and Travis Scott tease and delay their respective records like a big sibling teasing candy, we weren’t holding our breath. But lo and behold, Rashad’s debut The Sun’s Tirade is here and available to stream now.

And though it has been over two years since Rashad’s last full-length project, the critically-acclaimed Cilvia Demo, it seems like the wait has been worth it. Clocking in at an expansive 17 tracks, it is an impressively cohesive body of work from an artist who would have been referred to as ‘up-and-coming’ but a year ago. It also features a full roster of Rashad’s TDE label mates, including Kendrick (of course) and SZA, as well as rising rappers Syd Tha Kyd, Zacari and Deacon Blues.

Rashad first teased the album release date at the end of the music video for lead single "Free Lunch," which is required viewing for anyone in need of an intoxicatingly chill rap-jam. Looks like some people still know the meaning of a deadline.

In other music news, Vince Staples hopped on an absolutely fire remix of James Blake's track "Timeless." Listen to it right here.
