Over the weekend, Jaden Smith performed at Rolling Loud's Southern California festival, wowing the crowd with his increasingly accomplished live set.

Arguably, the highlight of the show came when Jaden rattled through a live rendition of "Icon," a track from his latest album, SYRE, which he crowned by executing an absurdly smooth piece of moonwalking. What made the feat even more impressive was the fact that Jaden was wearing chunky SS18 Louis Vuitton sneakers, hardly the type of footwear that is conducive to nimble maneuvaribility.

When pressed on who inspired him to learn the move, Jaden cited not just Michael Jackson, but his mom, Jada Pinkett-Smith.

"I like to think that my mom taught me how to moonwalk," said the young multi-hyphenate. "She's amazing at dancing, and I'd always watch Michael [Jackson] when I was young, and I just kind of picked it up." Watch him explain in the gallery above, and watch another clip below.

It's been a whirlwind 2017 for Jaden, having released his debut album; starred in Netflix's anime show, created by Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, Neo Yokio; appeared on projects by the likes of Tyler, the Creator; and built upon his impressive modeling career. On Friday, he dropped a pastel-hued video for track "George Jeff," which you can check out below.

When finished, be sure to check out our recent cover story with Jaden here.
