Tune in and turn up

Jaden Smith released his debut studio album SYRE two weeks agoAfter the teaser trailer surfaced on the internet, Smith hit us with the stunning visuals for the single “Icon.”

Since its release, the rapper and Neo Yokio actor has kept an active profile, nurturing artists on his MSFTSrep label, creating a recyclable water box startup and, predictably, covering some questions in a Reddit AMA to boost interest in his new project. In a Ziggy Stardust or Sasha Fierce-like fashion, SYRE is a creative exploration of an alter ego in which the young artist escapes the pressures of the modern world through self-analysis and admiration.

As imagined, much of the Q&A was less about the music, but rather Smith’s Twitter antics and relationships with the likes of Kanye West and Frank Ocean. Oh, and he has a collaboration with BROCKHAMPTON on the way, too.

Whether you love or hate his one line replies, it’s worth checking out some of his answers below. Read the full AMA here.
