Gyllenhaal officially signed on for Spider-Man-Far From Home six months ago, with fans left to speculate on the role he’ll play. Now, the Oscar-nominated actor has finally put an end to the rumors. Holding a classic Marvel comic with iconic Spider-Man nemesis Mysterio on the cover, Gyllenhaal captioned the post, “I just realized I’m not playing Spider-Man.”

Spider-Man: Far From Home will focus on Peter Parker (Tom Halland) and his pals as they vacation in Europe over the summer. Of course, things don’t go to plan, and Peter finds himself battling to save his friends from a villain called — yup, you guessed it — Mysterio.
