All eyes were on sixth place of Forbes Top-Earning Musicians of 2019 List, despite the top spots being occupied by long-time adversaries, Taylor Swift ($185 million) and Kanye West ($150 million). This year, JAY-Z and Beyoncé tied for sixth place, with an income of $81 million each.
Last year we reported that the Carters were worth over $1.25 billion as a couple. At the time, Beyoncé was more profitable with her music, moving more records than JAY-Z and drawing larger crowds at her shows. JAY-Z on the other hand, is an all-out businessman, having started multiple companies and purchased portions of others, including TIDAL.
With the “On The Run II” tour under their belt, it appears their incomes have reached parity. The rankings were based on income from touring, music and outside business ventures, using data from Pollstar, Nielsen Music and interviews with industry insiders, as well as the musicians themselves.
