Donald Trump's surprise victory in this week's presidential election is still continuing to shake the world to its core. Many have been scrambling to think of a response to this catastrophe, but one of the most heartfelt responses of the week has come from Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.
In a letter she penned for VICE's channel Broadly, Lawrence has issued a moving call to action in the wake of too many apathetic responses. "We shouldn't blame anyone, we shouldn't riot in the streets," she writes, "We should think strongly and clearly about what to do next because we cannot change the past."
And unlike many of the more democratic please to "come together" and "give Trump a chance," Lawrence has a more active form of dealing with the situation. Her note ends with "let this enrage you! Let it motivate you! Let this be the fire you didn't have before. If you are an immigrant, if you are a person of color, if you are LGBTQ+, if you are a woman—don't be afraid, be loud!"
