Jim Carrey has been bringing laughter to audiences for decades, but when he's not diving into his next role, the veteran entertainer dedicates much of his time to art. Carrey has been drawing since he was a child, but it wasn't until 2011 when he was dealing with some deeply-rooted personal issues that he decided to pick up a paintbrush.

In I Needed Color, we in turn get to see and hear from the 55-year-old actor as he delves into his artwork.

“I like the independence of it. I love the freedom of it," Carrey insists when speaking on painting. "No one else tells you what you can or can’t do, most of the time. And there’s an immediacy to it.”

The six-minute documentary ultimately finds Carrey dishing on his artistic impulses that have been with him since childhood.
