Justin Timberlake brought down the house in Minneapolis last night with his performance at Super Bowl LII. The pop star’s halftime show included a medley of his most iconic hits, the lead single from his new album Man of the Woods and a duet with a projection of Prince. Watch the full performance above.
Timberlake kicked off the show with new single “Filthy,” which he sung while emerging from the crowd and making his way to the stage. Once there, he churned out a slew of highlights from his first two albums – “Rock Your Body,” “Señorita,” “SexyBack,” “My Love,” and “Cry Me a River” – before making his way to the field for a rendition of “Suit & Tie,” though sadly without a JAY-Z appearance.
It was here that Timberlake sat down at the piano for his much-discussed homage to Prince. It was not a hologram as initially thought, but a projection of the late icon – with whom Timberlake duetted the Purple Rain-cut “I Would Die 4 U.” The show closed with “Mirrors” and recent hit “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”
As fine as the halftime performance was, the real star of Super Bowl LII was probably Selfie Kid. Get the scoop on that here.
