Brace yourself, Kamaiyah is in the house. The Oakland rapper and 2017 XXL Freshman Class inductee has just dropped a brand new mixtape, Before I Wake. Stream it below via SoundCloud.

Before I Wake is the follow-up to last year's breakthrough A Good Night in the Ghetto (one of our picks for the best albums of 2016). However, it does not contain either of the singles released earlier this year, "Build You Up" and "Successful," as this project is explicitly separate from her contract with Interscope.

Kamaiyah also revealed in an Instagram post that Before I Wake was created during a difficult time in her life, dealing with the loss of her brother, depression and issues with her label. See her post below.
