KAWS has taken over Galerie Perrotin in Tokyo and Hong Kong for special exhibitions, open to the public from now until May 12 and now until May 19, respectively. As Galerie Perrotin points out, both shows are particularly significant for the renowned artist, as he “fortified his creative career in Tokyo in the early-2000s and was the first artist to exhibit in the gallery’s Hong Kong space in 2012.”
The installations showcase new paintings pointing to abstract pop-art influences, in addition to other pieces that center around pop culture. Various sculptures are also highlighted, focusing on KAWS’ signature characters.
Above, you can get a feel for KAWS’ Perrotin exhibition in Hong Kong, open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Tokyo installation is open from 5 to 7 p.m. Follow here for more on the shows.
